- Offer: Bet £10 for a £30 free bet
- Min Odds: Evens
- Withdrawable: No
- Wagering Requirements: None
Betfred like to change their welcome bonus a lot. And we really do mean a lot – as in, we’re crossing our fingers that it doesn’t change again before we get to the end of this review. What this means for you is that if you see an offer you like, you need to grab it quickly.
At time of writing they are currently offering a £30 free bet which will be given after you place a bet of £10 at odds of evens or greater. You can place a bet for more than £10, but the bonus is fixed at £30.
How It Works
Claiming the promotion is very simple – all you need to do is register an account, make a deposit and place a £10 bet. There are no restrictions on the sport or market that your bet needs to be on, and both singles and multiples are allowed, provided you meet the minimum odds requirements of evens (2.0).
Regardless of whether your first bet wins or loses, you’ll receive your free bet within 48 hours of the settlement of the market (not from the time where you placed your qualifying bet). Note that because of this rule, your bet must settle within 30 days of being placed to be able to receive the bonus.
For the most part the conditions of the offer aren’t too restrictive, but there are a few points to be made aware of – especially if you were planning on depositing using an e-wallet such as PayPal or Moneybookers:
- Deposits made using the following payment methods are ineligible for the promotion: Moneybookers/Skrill, Neteller, UKash & PayPal. Ensure you use an alternate method (eg: Debit Card) if you want to claim the offer.
- The qualifying bet must be settled within 30 days of registering.
- All markets and sports are permitted with the following exception: Half Time Price Boosts.
- If you place a bet of more than £10, you will still receive the same £30 bet.
- Free bets must be used within 14 days of being credited or they will expire.
This offer has seen a few incarnations in it’s day at Betfred, but this latest version is definitely one of the better ones and certainly up there in terms of value (we only know of a few other bookies who offer a sports bonus worth more than the qualifying bet).
As we mentioned at the start of this review though, these offers do change damn quick – so if you want to get it, you really do need to act now as we’ve seen promos from Betfred change multiple times in a week.
Betfred have been a integral part of the betting scene since they first opened their doors in 1967. The company started life as a high street bookmaker before integrating their online sportsbook back in 2003. Interestingly, they are one of few bookmakers who still have a flurry of high street shops scattered throughout the UK and Ireland. In fact, there are still 1,370 Betfred betting shops in total!
The company are still based in Warrington, England where they have done for many years now. They have managed to set up dozens of different sponsorships in the past including the likes of Wembley Stadium, Scottish League Cup, World Snooker Championship and many more.
In terms of their market coverage, you really cant fault what Betfred offer up to their punters. It could be argued that both football and horse racing play a huge part in the makeup of their bookmaker, but then this isn’t uncommon for a bookmaker such as Betfred who are predominantly Euro focussed when it comes to online betting.
One of the company’s best features has to be that of their ability to sniff out new and exciting markets, and in turn have their own twist on things. For example, Goals Galore betting is essentially just picking games where you think both teams will score at any time, but their clever marketing and twists that they have added makes it one of the most popular betting markets in production these days. The same could also be said of Double Delight and Hat-trick Heaven, again both having twists on simple markets.
The bookmakers is jam packed with other features such as live streaming, cash out betting, social section including a forum, betting tips, statistics, live commentary, blog, huge social media following and so much more.
The pricing structure is very solid at Betfred, which you would expect really from one of the worlds best. They are great for price boosts as well, of which make them super competitive and often best priced in the industry for these types of bets.
Ease of use
The design of the website, for us at least, is the only real negative for Betfred. It looks very dated these days, and even though they have recently undergone a facelift of the bookmaker, the tick boxes and list bets are all too cumbersome, which is a shame as aside from that, it’s one of the best bookmakers going.
