BetVictor Review

BetVictor have been at the top of the pile when it comes to sports betting for over 50 years. The company have seen many changes in that time, but what’s been most noticeable has been their need for improvement and to also maintain their status as one of the best in the industry.

The sportsbook is heavily weighted around football and horse racing, which isn’t uncommon for bookmakers of their ilk. They’ve been able to introduce unique betting opportunities in the way of price it up (a function that allows punters to choose from a range of scenarios to create one accumulator-type of bet) and also Bet Boosts (enhanced odds for certain selections and picks).

Whilst these are the two key sports, it would be unfair on the good work they have done to simply say this is all they have. They cover pretty much everything you can think of, from boxing to Britain’s Got Talent, and everything in between.

Match Betting & BTTS Acca Money back

It’s 4:45pm on a Saturday afternoon. You’re sitting in front of the TV waiting for just one more goal of your 5-fold accumulator to go in. Come on Kettering Town, you can do it! Franticly checking the Kettering Twitter feed, just waiting for Jeff to shout “Goooooaaaaallllll” one final time, but alas, the game finishes 1-0 and your £10 bet that almost brought in £300, has gone up in flames. Sound familiar? Well, BetVictor have something that you might be interested!

OK, enough of the dramatics now! At Bet Victor they are essentially offering you your money back should just one team of your 5-fold or greater accumulator let you down. The bet only covers accas that are made up of match betting or both teams to score (BTTS) bets and the promotion will pay you up to £10 of your stake. You don’t need to opt-in to your bet as it will occur automatically, but it’s worth mentioning that you will only get one bet per 24-hour period.

Offer rules

The offer will only apply when just one leg of a five or more accumulator fails to win. If you include more legs this does not mean the number of failed selections will increase. The most you can get in return is £10, which will be a match on your bet stake. So, if you bet £20 and qualify then you will receive a £10 free bet.

Your accumulator can contain both match betting and BTTS selections but the combined odds must be at least 4/1 (5.0). Only matches from certain leagues and tournaments apply but they include the Premier League, Championship, Scottish Premiership and the Champions League amongst others.

All free bets will be credited to your account within a short time of the bet being settled. If you still haven’t received your free bet in a reasonable timeframe then you will need to contact customer support. Bets placed on the Internet, telephone and mobile device will all count towards this bet. Free bet must be used within 3 days.

The offer will be available to new and existing accounts, having no bearing on the amount of time you have spent at Bet Victor. But, you wont be able to claim the offer should you be using other promotion money for your bet.

About BetVictor

BetVictor are one of the biggest names in the sports betting industry and have been at the top of the pile since they opened their doors in 1946. The company now reside in Gibraltar and are licensed by the UK Gambling Commission, but still have a headquarters based in London, England.

BetVictor – Victor Chandler as it was previously known – started life on the high street and they still to this day operate a number of high street stores across the UK and Ireland. But, it’s their online presence that has propelled the company the greatest, boasting an impressive player database of over 500,000 with a turnover of in excess of £1billion in 160 countries.

Best features

If you are looking to bet on either horse racing or football, the BetVictor has to be a bookmaker that you try. We realise that pretty much all European facing bookmakers offer comprehensive markets on these sports, but BetVictor really do feel like they go above and beyond most. What’s great about the site is that with each sport they offer, they back up with the market coverage to match as well. Even smaller sports such as greyhound racing or even MMA have superb market coverage resulting in some of the best in the industry.

The site includes a number of features including cash out betting and also bet boosts which can be accessed around the clock. But, probably their best feature comes from their pricing strategy, which we will discuss next.

Pricing

The pricing at BetVictor is genuinely as good as you are going to get. Over the last couple of season they have been voted the best priced bookmaker on football betting by a high profile odds comparison company. Now, if you think how many bookmakers offer up football betting markets and how competitive the pricing is going to be, then this is a much a reason as you will ever need to join them.

The generous pricing runs deep into the site as well, not just focusing on football. We know of several pro tennis bettors that wont use any site other than BetVictor just because their pricing is that good!

Ease of use

For years the design really did let down what could be one of the best sites in the industry. But, these days things are very different and you’re getting a very clean, modern and simplistic design which puts all its emphasis on the betting and not just the fancy fluff that a lot of bookmakers often pad their sites out with.

Maximum bet

Like so many bookmakers these days, BetVictor have opted to include a maximum payout limit rather than a maximum bet limit. And yes, before you ask they do differ!

The max payout per day is £500,000. But, this will fluctuate depending on the sport and market that you have won money on. As a quick example, horse races in Great Britain and Ireland are subject to the £500,000 cap, but any races in the same area that are Class 6 or lower races are capped at £100,000.

Withdrawal limits

The maximum that you can withdraw in any single transaction is that of £50,000 using a Visa or MasterCard. These limits will start to reduce with other payment methods such as Neteller, Skrill and PayPal.

Casino

BetVictor Casino ScreenshotThe casino has been something of a labour of love here. We remember when they first opened their doors to casino players over a decade ago and we honestly thought it was a bit of a joke. But, as with all things BetVictor do, they’ve come on leaps and bounds and we think the biggest compliment that we can pay them is that their casino will stack up against any dedicated casino brand in the industry.

They utilise the power of several big software and games designers, include that of Microgaming, NetEnt and Evolution Gaming. The casino enjoys a really solid and vast range of games as a result. Most of the games on offer allow you to play in demo-mode, which is great to learn new games and see exactly how they tick before investing real money.

BetVictor Company Info

Where are BetVictor based?

BetVictor are pretty famous for being based off-shore in Gibraltar. Their fame came about in 1998 when they were one of the first companies to move to one of these tax-havens, exercising a loop-hole in the British tax law. Essentially it meant that as long as they were in a British territory, which Gibraltar is, they were still allowed to offer their services to punters within the UK, whilst paying the massively reduced tax commission of a company based in Gibraltar.

The move was so monumental that Gordon Brown actually abolished tax on gambling in 2001 and whilst it’s not known if this was as a direct result of BetVictor moving, it undoubtedly had an effect.

When were they founded?

The company was founded in 1946 by William Chandler. He started running books at local dog tracks, before eventually hitting the High Streets in 1961 when the ban on betting shops had been lifted.

In 1974 Victor Chandler took the business over following the death of his father and from there, they’ve not looked back. The brand was also renamed to reflect Victor taking over by 2008, before being names BetVictor in 2012.

What’s probably most iconic about BetVictor is that they were one of the first companies to recognise the importance of online gambling within the industry. They officially went online back in 1998, but prior to that were already taking huge wagers from high-stakes punters around the world, with the internet being a much easier way to deal with these bets. The brand is now widely recognised as kick starting the online marketplace for sports betting and gambling as a whole.

What are their main markets?

We think it would be fair to say that Betvictor’s main markets lie within the UK and Ireland. They’re still very much a British brand, and whilst they’ve been based offshore for a number of years now, they still have several offices within the UK.

But, the flipside is that they now boast a player database of over 500,000 from 160 different countries around the world, suggesting they are very much an international brand.

Do they run high street betting shops?

The BetVictor group used to have a huge number of high street betting shops but eventually sold them off to concentrate on their online empire. Interestingly, they kept a few high-end betting ‘shops’ in areas such as Mayfair in London, which were more like private clubs than your usual bookmaker. But, even these eventually got the boot a few years ago and now they solely concentrate on online enterprises.

Do they sponsor anyone?

At the minute, the BetVictor brand is currently principal partner of one of the biggest football clubs in the world, Liverpool FC. Aside from that they’ve also sponsored the likes of Chelsea FC, been British Racing authorised betting partner, and put their name to the November/Open Meeting at Cheltenham, including it’s iconic BetVictor Gold Cup.
