This Thursday the boys from the England football team head to Wembley Stadium to take on San Marino in their next step towards qualifying for Euro 2016.
After a 2-0 win over Switzerland last month, and in a game that many (including the bookies) thought would go another way, the team must be feeling pretty confident – even more so when you consider just how rubbish San Marino are. And at 1/100 favourites, it would be very embarrassing for England to not win this one.
The two teams have met four times previously, and each time has resulted in an England victory with San Marino only managing one goal:
- 17th Feb 1993 – England 6 – 0 San Marino
- 17th Nov 1993 – San Marino 1 – 7 England
- 12th Oct 2012 – England 5 – 0 San Marino
- 22nd March 2013 – San Marino 0 – 8 England
So whilst it’ll nice to be on the winning side (for once), the prospect of watching Rooney, Welbeck and co slamming them in the back of the net for 90 minutes could get a little dull once the novelty wears off.
To make things a little more interesting, Betfred are promoting their in-play market on the game with the offer of a risk free £10 bet. To get it you just need to place a bet with odds of 1/2 or more on any market during the game (either as a £10 single or £5 each way), and if your bet loses, you’ll receive a free £10 bet which will be credited to your account within 24 hours.
There are plenty of markets to choose from, including handicap betting, correct score, first/last/anytime goalscorer and the total number of goals (including over/under). And with minimum odds of just 1/2, you can pretty much bet on anything (within reason).
Having said that though, this is a risk-free bet which means you don’t actually get anything unless the bet loses – so think of it as an insurance policy rather than a free bet. With this in mind you’re best leaving the odds on-bets alone, as the bigger the odds the better value you’ll be getting from the offer.
