There was a big improvement from out picks last week with only one of our selections failing and a couple of decent priced winners at 4/5 and 8/13.
Manchester United’s combination of an unsettled back four and potent strike force led to goals for both sides against Watford in a 1-2 result. The League One table topping clash between Peterborough and Portsmouth also delivered a 1-2 away victory.
The often goal laden MLS didn’t disappoint with results of 5-3 and 1-5 leaving Wycombe and Oxford United drawing a blank and with it our chances of landing all five.
With another full weekend of league action ahead, we’ll be hoping for more success with our latest BTTS picks.

Fulham v Watford – Yes (8/13)
Watford’s 100% winning start to the season came to an end last Saturday but they did find the net to our BTTS favour and but for the ever-superb David De Gea could have got back on terms with the Red Devils.
Fulham were expected to spring a few shocks after spending heavily since gaining promotion back to the Premier League and although they have just 4 points from their 5 matches, they’ve only failed to score once in all competitions since the opening weekend, and that was against Manchester City.
Summer signings Aleksander Mitrovic, Andre Schurrle and Jean Michael Seri have all found the net this season and we expect them to do so again at the Cottage.
Watford will be looking to get back on track after last Saturday’s defeat and with a front three of Deeney, Gray and Pereyra they certainly have enough attacking talent to produce some goals.
Sunderland v Rochdale – Yes (8/11)
Sunderland haven’t had things quite their own way since dropping down from the Championship with draws against Oxford United, Fleetwood Town and Luton, all of whom managed to score past the Black Cats.
They do have one of the season’s surprise packages in young striker Josh Maja, who’s goal tally reads 5 goals in seven games, enough to earn him the Young Player of the Month award for August.
Mid-table Rochdale have had no trouble in scoring, finding the net three times in both of their previous matches. Their problems lie at the other end of the pitch conceding 16 goals in 8 games an average of exactly 2 per game.
This is music to our ears against a Sunderland side who have conceded in all bar one of their league matches this term and we see both teams scoring at the Stadium of Light.
Hoffenheim v Borussia Dortmund – Yes (4/9)
It’s still early doors in the Bundesliga with only 3 rounds completed and it’s still unclear how Hoffenheim will react to 31 year old head coach Julien Nagelsmann’s decision to join rivals RB Leipzig from the end of this season.
Hoffenheim finished level on points with Dortmund last term with both pipping Leverkusen to Champions League qualification on goal difference. In fact both these sides were bettered only by Bayern Munich in the goal scoring department during the 2017/18 campaign.
BTTS has landed in each of the last 5 times these two sides have met with a total of 18 goals scored. Hoffenheim put three past Freiburg in their only home league game so far and we expect Reiss Nelson and co to find their scoring boots again. After a trip back from the Ukraine on European duty on Wednesday night however, we can’t see Hoffenheim shutting out Mario Goetze, Marco Reus et al for 90 minutes.
FC Thun v FC Sion – Yes (1/2)
There’s been no shortage of goals in the Swiss Super League during the first six round of matches and our BTTS pick see’s two of the more unpredictable teams going head to head.
FC Thun’s 6 league matches have averaged 3.5 goals per game with FC Sion weighing in with over 3.8 per game.
Matches between these two have been equally goal laden of late with an aggregate score across the 4 Super League matches last season of FC Thun 6 – FC Sion 14. The last two meeting saw 4-1 and 7-2 victories for Sion and we can see both teams scoring again in what points to another entertaining encounter.
Atlanta United FC vs Real Salt Lake – Yes (8/15)
The last of our Saturday selections kicks-off at midnight in the MLS.
High flying Atlanta top the Eastern Conference in no small part thanks to Venezuelan striker Josef Martinez who has scored 30 goals in 29 games and tops the MLS scoring charts.
Atlanta have scored 15 goals in their previous 5 matches with both teams scoring in four of those.
Real Salt Lake, whilst not as prolific as their hosts, have also have been firing them in of late. They’ve recorded a 6-2 roit over the LA Galaxy and a 6-0 away victory over the Colorado rapids in the past month and Damir Kreilach and Albert Rusnak have both hit double figures for the season from midfield.
With so many goal threats in operation at both ends here we can see another high scoring MLS match-up.
