Racebets are a pretty unique brand in the sports betting industry in that the site is solely focussed around horse are greyhound racing. They are one of the few companies to offer this dedicated service and it’s been interesting watching how they progress over the last 12 months.
What really struck us straight from the off is that they are more than just a bookmaker and more of a betting resource for horse racing punters. The site includes loads of stats and editorial help to enable users to make more informed betting decisions. We loved that the fact that all the info is free to its customers and definitely saves money compared with paying for subscriptions to sites who essentially offer the same info.
In terms of betting, the site covers a ridiculous number of races from around the world. We’d say that the UK and Ireland are the bread and butter, mainly because this where most of their clientele is based, but if you are looking to bet on races from more obscure corners of the world, such as France, UAE and South Africa, there are few that do it better than Racebets.
Racebets is a very unique bookmaker in that they only deal in horse racing. The company have been about since 2005 and just two short years managed to establish themselves as the biggest bookmaker in Germany. Since then they have been taken over by German Racing who now have refocused the site and dedicated it to be a hot bed for horse racing fanatics.
The company are now covering races in over 40 countries around the world and claim to cover over 250,000 each year; a staggering amount for any bookmaker. In 2012 they managed to secure a license to cover races from the UK and Ireland, which again gave them another string to their bow.
As the company only target horse racing, if you aren’t looking to bet on it then you will need to look elsewhere. But, we think that this is a really cool initiative from the company and it allows them to solely plough all their energy into one sport. For us, we think this has paid off big time.
The site allows you to flick between races from different countries and time zones with ease. You’re also going to be able to see the best backed horses for that day and the most popular betting markets. On top of this they offer a streaming service, which is free to use for all punters, again covering dozens of races each day from around the globe.
Finally we wanted to give a quick shout out to the statistics section on Racebets. It might just be the best in the business and again it’s completely free. You can see much info on horses, jockey, trainers, courses including past winners, ground, previous runners and what to expect from future races.
Pricing wise they are pretty much on par with competition. We didn’t find any markets that weren’t far off what top bookmakers in the industry were offering. We’d happily be betting here every week safe in the knowledge our bets were there or thereabouts best price.
Ease of use
The site looks and feels really great and it allows you to quickly jump from race to race. We liked that you were able to track a specific race meeting as well. We would have liked some sort of live ticker feed with upcoming races that a lot of bookmakers do offer these days, but we are merely splitting hairs here.
The site doesn’t actually include a maximum bet, but they do the cap the maximum amount you can win. The bets are in accordance with the popularity of the race, for example, Category 1 races are capped at £25,000, whereas Category 4 races are capped at just £1,000. The maximum that you can win throughout the week is capped at £100,000.
The amount that you can withdraw will depend on the activity within your account. You will need to send off account verification for this to go be processed and then your limits will be applied to your account. It’s likely that to get these increased or to make a one-off large withdrawal, we recommend that you contact customer services beforehand, who are usually very accommodating from our experience.

RaceBets Company Info
Where are Racebets based?
RaceBets are based out of Malta. They hold licenses with both the Malta Gaming authority and the UK Gambling Commission, allowing them to work legally within a large jurisdiction.
When were they founded?
The company was actually founded in 2005 and were based out of Germany. In fact, by 2007 they were the largest bookmaker within Germany. In 2010, they invited German Racing to become a significant shareholder in the company and it was decided, given the sports popularity with the bookmaker, that this would be their target sport.
As a result of the merger, the company now pump a large amount of money each year back into German racing and have been a major driving force in the success of the sport over the last few years. By 2012, the company were able to offer both UK and Irish racing and it was this that really allowed Racebets to cement themselves within the industry, becoming one of the fastest growing horseracing bookmakers in the world.
Where are their main markets?
Their main markets used to come from Germany, but these days they are much bigger in the UK so we would say that it’s split between the two. They offer their services to over 40 countries around the world though, so don’t assume they are exclusive to Germany and the UK.
